The split leather is located beneath the dermis layer of the skin. It is mostly known for its suede finish, sometimes referred to as "daim." It enjoyed great popularity in the 1970s—a period that has always been a significant source of inspiration for Jérôme Dreyfuss.

The underlayer of calfskins has been sanded to achieve a velvety touch. The skins have been dyed through to create a delicate marbling effect.

• Brush the suede parts before first use with a soft brush (to remove dust from sanding) and waterproof with a colorless universal spray. This treatment should be repeated regularly.
• At first, wear your accessory with dark clothing to avoid color transfer onto your clothes.
• Warning: Dark clothes with poorly fixed dye may bleed onto your accessory.
• Protect from heat sources.
• Be careful not to snag your accessory, as the split leather may tear.
